Holiday Gift Guide for the Cheese Lover

Being a Wisconsin girl, I would be remiss to not include a gift guide for the fellow cheese lover in your life.  Here’s my list of the best of the best when it comes to fromage. 1. Cottage Delight Cheesemaker’s Pickle A delicious chutney full of rhubarb, plums, blackcurrants, blackberries, carrots and onions.  I purchased a jar of this at Borough Market in London and fell in love.  Well worth the international shipping. 2. Formaticum Cheese Papers Good quality cheese deserves to be wrapped in these cheese papers.  Specially designed to allow oxygen flow and wick away excess moisture to keep your cheese fresher, longer. 3. Sundance Artisan Cheese Knives I love the rustic look of these knives!  Perfect for a well assorted cheese platter. 4.  Crate & Barrel Slate Boards Slate boards are perfect for serving, clean up well, and you can scribble the flavors in chalk. 5. Roelli Dunbarton Blue Cheese By far and away my most favorite cheese of all time.  A cheddar laced blue, the flavor is creamy, sharp, and fantastic all at once.

Tea Lovers Guide//Peanut Butter & Dill Pickles

Holiday Gift Guide for the Tea Lover

My obsession with all things British and ability to make it through college without becoming a coffee addict have resulted in a strong love of tea. When my parents lived in London, I frequently visited the tea shops and my Christmas stocking was overflowing with different boxes my mom acquired throughout the year. If anyone on your list is a tea lover as well, here are my gift ideas!   1. Classic White Isotherm Teapot  The combination of ceramic and stainless steel keeps tea hotter, longer.  The cute, retro design is just the icing on the cake. 2. Vera Bradley Mug with Lid  Adorable patterns with a lid that can keep your tea warm or serve as a coaster. 3. WishingwellArt Maple Cinnamon Flavored Turbinado Sugar Cubes  Clever way to sweeten your tea in cute shapes. 4. Tupelo Honey Packets from Honeypax  Famous Tupelo honey in single serve packets.  Perfect for your bag, desk, or when traveling to sweeten your cup of tea. 5. Lemon, Ginger, & Echinacea Tea from Whittard My favorite flavor from …

Bourbon Gift Guide//Peanut Butter & Dill Pickles Blog

Holiday Gift Guide for the Bourbon Lover

It’s no secret that bourbon has become a big part of my life this year.  I guess that’s what happens when you discover your great-great-great grandfather was a whiskey baron and was schooling Jack Daniels back in the day. Bourbon has made a big impact on the food and cocktail scene this year and if you’ve got a bourbon lover on your list, I’ve got a great compilation of gift ideas for you! I will not judge (in fact I encourage) you to scoop these up if you’re a bourbon fiend yourself! 1. Belle Meade Bourbon   The family bourbon.  It’s the best and a given on this guide. 2. Crate & Barrel Impressions Glasses  Perfect size.  Perfect Price. 3. King Cube Ice Tray  Large cubes melt slowly and don’t dilute the hard stuff.  Silicone makes removing the cubes a breeze. 4. Noble Tonic 01: Bourbon Barrel Matured Maple Syrup  Bourbon for breakfast?  Sign me up. 5. Rare Tea Cellar Bourbon Barrel Smoked Sugar  Smoky, sweet, with a touch of bourbon.  I’ve topped cookies and fruit cobblers …

My favorite spices & seasonings//Peanut Butter & Dill Pickles Blog

These are a few of my favorite things: Spices/Seasonings

I get really curious about what people use and keep in their kitchens.  Back in May, I posted about my favorite kitchen gadgets.  It was a fun to write and you can see it here. This time around I decided to open up my hilarious spice cabinet. “Why is it hilarious Molly?” Let me tell you. I have an internal conflict with my kitchen, you see.  On one hand it has the world’s smallest pantry.  Annoyingly small.  So small we had to set up storage shelves in the basement.  Boo. The trade off, however, is that next to my pathetic pantry, I have the cutest darn spice cabinet.  It really is the funniest thing.  The shelves are only about an inch or so wide so it’s not suitable for much more than rows of small spice canisters. I’ll never forget when my college roommate came over to our house for the first time and I flung it open.  She started laughing and couldn’t believe how thin and tiny it was.  She thought it was a false …

These are a few of my favorite things: Kitchen Gadgets

I just love Julie Andrews.  I wanted to be her in the Sound of Music when I was younger…I suppose part of me still does now. *I hope you got the Sound of Music reference in the post title or the next diversion won’t correlate* When my sister and I were little, a wonderful woman named Jackie would come and care for us occasionally if my parents were out of town. Jackie also watched us during the day for a week when I had chicken pox and my parents had to work.  She had this glorious four poster bed with a big, fluffy white down comforter and the Disney channel–which was a big deal in 1992 (the Disney channel, not a down comforter).  I was allowed to lay in her enormous bed and eat chocolate pudding when I was sick (remember I said white comforter…and I was 6). She was the best. Whenever she looked after us, we watched all sorts of musicals by Rogers and Hammerstein.  Carousel and The King & I were some …
