3 Important Takeaways from this Post:
1. Bats are not kangaroos...but they can be just as cool.
Leading up to our trip, Mike's sister had been emailing us loads of fun stuff to do during our visit. In one email, I noticed "Bat Cruise" and ruled it out. I had envisioned swarms of bats flying every which way and decided that was not for me.

2. You too can be a part of a giant postcard!
On our way to the Green Mesquite for dinner, we pulled off into a side street in a neighborhood. Lo and behold, the building on the corner has a giant Austin postcard painted on the side! Now, I don't know about you but I've always wanted to be part of a vintage postcard replica! Why not, right?!? Of course we jumped out for some family photos!
You know what was just as cool as the postcard?!? The vintage truck parked on the street!
3. The Texas State Capitol Has Great Air Conditioning and Cool Door Hinges
To escape the heat, we decided to take a look around the State Capitol while we were in downtown Austin. The architecture inside was gorgeous! I felt a like I was on a field trip back in school!

We had such a great time in Austin. I can't wait to go back!
Even to see the "kangaroos" again :)
